About my birthday. And some other stuff.

My birthday was on Thursday. It really wasn't a big deal, because I didn't have my party on the day, but it was okay. I mostly just hung out during the day. I watched the commentary track for the Josie and the Pussycats DVD. It was pretty interesting. I love that show.

Then, my mom got me ready to go to my brother's graduation ceremony (or promotion ceremony, I should say) which he told us was at 6 p.m., but was really at 5 p.m., and we ended up arriving late after he gave us 20 minutes notice that we should be there. Fun! Adding to the excitement, was the fact that both of my cameras failed to function, so we did not take any pictures of my brother. Someone from our church was there taking pictures of his son, though, and managed to capture some shots of my brother, which was very, extremely nice of him. He sent me the pictures today in an e-mail.

After the ceremony we went out to dinner. My parents, my brother and I decided to go to Sizzler, which we didn't go to because my dad took a wrong turn, and then we ended up in a plaza with a bunch of restaurants. I decided that the Roadhouse Grill sounded really tasty, but then we couldn't go inside because, unfortunately (and tragically), they were playing country music. So we went next-door to the soup plantation and ate the somewhat crappy food there. At least they weren't playing country music, though.

Dudes, I can't plug my ears, and I really just can't abide country music in any form. It gives me physical pains, and it makes me sort of sad that I can't like a form of music, but it is just not compatible with Kim. You know how sometimes people are allergic to strawberries, and if they eat them, they have a really bad physical reaction? With country music, it's the same way. I'm allergic. It's not that I don't want to listen to it, necessarily, but it just hurts me. It gives me a bad physical reaction. Totally beyond my conscious control. So, I would much rather eat crappy food in a country free environment, than absolutely delicious food in a country music environment.

Anyhow, I did receive many birthday wishes from various friends, and that was really sweet. It was awesome to be recognized and appreciated.

My birthday party is going to be on Saturday the 19th at 5 PM. It is going to be a late eighties/early nineties theme, and I am going to ask people to dress accordingly. It should be really fun. I'm looking forward to wearing big socks and tucking my pants into them. (jacoba, can you come to the party? It would be absolutely groovy to see you again!)

I'm teaching tomorrow at church, so I should really solidify my lesson. I have to admit, I am a little bit anxious, which is a pretty new feeling when it comes to teaching. I'm usually completely calm. No nervousness at all. Maybe it's because I have to give the lesson in less than 24 hours, and I haven't even really prepared it all the way yet.

I love court TV. I just thought I should say that. I really want to watch it right now. Also, Peter Facinelli is hot. Sarah and I were watching Fastlane the other day, and it really made me miss that show. Don't make fun of me because I bought the entire series off of an eBay auction. It's worth it! Really!

Also, my cousins came to visit this morning. My mom has only one brother and one sister, and my mom, her sister, and her sister-in-law all became pregnant at the same time, and all had girls. I am one of those girls, and we have been dubbed by our family as "the triplets." It has been seven years since we have seen each other all at the same time. So it was really cool catching up with them today. Below is a picture of us as toddlers.

I also saw Shrek 2 today which I thought was very funny.
