About Christopher Reeve.

The first thing I do when I get on my computer is to check my e-mail. My friend Reggie had sent an e-mail about Christopher Reeve, and I was extremely sad to find out that he had passed away. As you know, I am also paralyzed -- not a severely as he was, though. He died as a result of complications from a bedsore which I find completely mind-boggling. You'd think he has like the best care and stuff because of who he is. There are so many preventative things that can be done so this type of thing never happens to you. Back when I was in the hospital, they showed us a bunch of really disgusting pictures, I guess, in order to scare us into never getting one of those. I couldn't even look; my mom was the one subjected to the horrors of the photographs.

Truthfully, I have had the start of a bedsore on multiple occasions. Every time I have done the necessary things in order for it to not become serious -- stayed off the affected area (usually the bum) and applied effective medicines to the area. How could have it gotten so serious without someone interfering?

It has been a sad day for me. I know that he is happier wherever he is now, though. I wonder if all of his tricked out gear is going to be donated to people who need it. I hope so.

In other bad news, my sister Kristine saw a mouse on top of her dresser in her bedroom which caused her to become momentarily, well, completely hysterical. If they could get on top of her tall dresser, then there is no place that is safe from the evil that are mice. My dad brought home 21 mousetraps (the snap kind, those glue traps are horrible) and, unrelatedly, my other sister Kellie brought home a cat. Kristine was very happy about this as she believes that it will kill all of the mice in our house.

We also got new couches today. Someone from our church got new ones and ask if we wanted their olds. I got new couches in my room, which is really good because the ones that were in here were really bad.

Anyway, sad day. Poor Christopher Reeve's family. :-,(
