Presidents' Day update with Kim

I just finished a paper where I analyze Harry Potter from a critical theoretical framework of different dialogic discourses. If that sounds boring, that's because it so is. There's nothing anyone can do to make historical literary commentary interesting; it's an impossibility. It's like trying to make ice seem hot. It's trying to talk without moving your tongue. It's like trying to see through your eyelids.

Not only is it boring, but it also feels extremely extremely pointless. I just wrote a paper all about authoritative and internally persuasive dialogic discourse, and I still have basically no idea what it's all about, which is pretty bad. At the same time, though, I think if I can't retain this information for more than 10 minutes at a time, I am never going to be using it in the future for anything at all. And that is what makes me the most sad.

Well, I should be getting ready for school now. Can you believe that I have to go to school on Presidents' Day? I know! Is nothing sacred anymore? (My school is totally weird; we don't get Presidents' Day off, but we do get Cesar Chavez Day off. Yeah, I can't wrap my head around that, either.)

Happy Presidents' Day, everyone! I will be at school until 5:15, and taking a 2 1/2 hour test on old English literature. (Try not to be jealous of me!)
