Comic Con 2006: abbreviated version.

Comic-Con was awesome. On Wednesday, I went to preview night with my sister KeriAnn, and we met up with waterbearers (Jenifer), and had an excellent time. KeriAnn and I were very happy to have secured some of the last Veronica Mars messenger bags. I am currently using it as my purse. I also got six posters and a poster holder tube for $13. Nice! This year parking was made considerably easier due to using the hotel parking next-door. It was a tad on the expensive side, though.

The next day Thursday was also a blast. We saw panels on the animated cartoons like Ant Bully and Barnyard, and then another one with the people behind Animaniacs & Pinky and the Brain. That was very cool.

On Friday, I got to see more people, and I came with my new and particularly awesome friend Jenn (sniffme). It was good to see Julie (juliedarling), Carol (mogley), Carey (careyleah), and Jeannette (trjeannette). We saw panels on Battlestar Galactica, Heroes, Kyle XY, Bones & Snakes on a Plane. After all the craziness, we went to Fred's Cantina (I'm pretty sure that's what it was called), and I had some tasty enchiladas.

One of the highlights of Friday was while walking the exhibition floor. Jenn and I were actually right next to none other than Joss Whedon, who was talking to some guy in a pinstripe suit while we pretended to browse the art table they were standing next to. I have actually met him once before, but was too shy to say something again. We walked (rolled in my case) a safe distance away where we snapped a photo, and tried very hard not to feel like stalkers.

On Saturday, I actually did not get to go to Comic-con again mostly due to rides falling through, but I think it was fortuitous. I was completely exhausted, and I also managed to get my van cleaned out (which, because my sister Katelynne is working for me, demanded my constant supervision). I also got to see Neon Trees (my friend's band from Utah who were in town), and my BFF Cecilia who was also in town for the weekend. I was sad mostly to have missed all of the Internet friends that I know and love, but it turned out just fine.

On Sunday, I went to church and got to hang out with Cecilia and her family afterwards at her house. Her mom made some awesome enchiladas which were extremely delicious, and I had some of her homemade guacamole which was also to die for.

On Monday, we saw Pirates II (Cecilia, Dave, Barbie, Chris, Cecilia's mom, Cecilia's Grandpa, and Cecilia's cousin Jackie). I thought it was actually better the second time around, and everyone else seemed to really enjoy it. After that, Dave and I went to Family Home Evening meeting at the Church, and I also had a very good time there, too.

I wish I had pictures to post, but I don't yet. Overall, I think it was a very good weekend, and I have an inkling that Comic Con 2007 is going to be even better! (Also, by the con next year I will have graduated from college! Yay!)
