So, for next semester, I thought I was good with my schedule being Tuesday and Thursday classes from 9 AM-3:45 PM. I e-mailed my adviser to make sure I was thinking correctly on a couple requirements, and he was like, "no, I don't think so." Even though the course description says I can take the same course more than once, and I wanted to count the same course (taken twice with different instructors) in two different areas. Why would it let you repeat the course if it doesn't count for graduation? That sounds retarded. Also, for one of the sections required for my major, it says, "Any literature and writing course 300 or above." I took 420, which was Women's Global Literature, and my adviser says since I am on the writing track (not literature), I can't count that course for the requirement, which is also very retarded.

There are courses being offered to fulfill these two remaining requirements, but they are night courses that go from 5:30-8:15, and one of them is on a day I am not on campus. I just don't think I can go from 9 AM until 8:15 PM, you know, for my health (and sanity), and I'm not going to go all the way to San Marcos for less than three hours on one day at night. I can't do it, and I don't have the extra gas money that would cost. I have an appointment to see my adviser (before, he just e-mailed me this bad news) on Tuesday the 28th.

Anyhow, I hope that this gets cleared up nicely. I probably should worry about this semester, though. Yikes!
