School stuff, Freedom Writers, wishing I was somehow interesting!

First day of school was pretty good. I am signed up for 15 credits which is five classes. Three of those classes are writing classes, one of which has an extremely heavy reading load as well. The others are power and popular culture and American literature II. We have to read Faulkner's As I Lay Dying and Hemingway's For Whom the Bell Tolls. There is also a ton of other poetry and stuff like that. Yes! If I can survive this, I can survive anything. I am going to be graduating in May! Graduating!

Yesterday, instead of doing the responsible thing and preparing for school, I opted instead to see Freedom Writers, which I wholeheartedly enjoyed and sincerely recommend. It was a great movie, and I'm not a huge fan of Hilary Swank. I mean, I liked her early work (hello The Next Karate Kid!), but she sort of lost her appeal after she won her second Oscar? Or was it after the first? However, she was phenomenal in this film. I also liked it because she wanted to change the world by being a ninth-grade English teacher, and what do I want to be? A ninth-grade English teacher! I am so totally her twin. Except I am not going to be teaching gangsters, I am going to be teaching upper-middle-class brats. See? TWINS!

I feel like I don't talk about important things enough here. I can only be really boring and look back on the times when this journal actually had some exciting content. Oh, the Kim from 2003! You had so many interesting things to say! If only I could warn you about what was to come, but sadly, I cannot.
