What I have been up to lately:

So, toward the beginning of September, I came down with a cold that left me coughing, and I guess that sort of breaks my no coughing sickness streak that I had going on since July 2008. I'm not sure whether to count it, though, as I did have a cough, but I was able to cough everything up without assistance. Anyhow, the sickness was pretty horrible, and almost everyone else in the house caught it including Cecilia who was out of commission for like two weeks. I was only pretty bad for three days in a row.

Cecilia and our new friend Doug and I all went to Walking with Dinosaurs at the Staples Center in Los Angeles the second Saturday in September. It was really fun. Before the dinosaur show, we ate some delicious Italian food. I was really happy because we found a parking spot where we didn't have to pay any money! I know it's kind of silly, but I hate hate hate hate hate paying for parking. That's the worst! Anyhow, the dinosaur show was very cool. I think we were the oldest ones there who weren't accompanying children, but it was awesome.

My favorite part was probably when the Tyrannosaurus rex finally came out at the very end. Although I really did like the Triceratops fight, too. I took a brief nap when the Brontosaurus and Stegosaurus came out, so I must have found that a little on the boring side, although I love longnecks. One thing that sticks out to me was that the ankylosaurus uses its fluids so economically that it doesn't have to urinate, although I wonder exactly how they could know that. One thing I would really like to know about dinosaurs, though, and I have not found it on the Internet, is exactly HOW they reproduce. I know they lay eggs and stuff, but how do they mate? They have such long tails... anyhow, I don't know how that logistically could happen.

I also can't remember which weekend it was, but another weekend, we went to Painted Earth (me, Cecilia, Megan, Erica & Doug), and Megan painted a cup-bowl for me double rainbow style. It has a very cool double rainbow pattern encircling the cup-bowl from bottom to middle and top to middle. The inside is painted sky blue and has clouds. The bottom is also painted blue, and Megan signed it for me, and I also wrote my name on it using my mouth skills. We just got our stuff on Wednesday night, because we had to wait for them to fire it up or whatever, and the first soup I had was split pea soup, homemade by Cecilia. Delicious.

Other than that, my September has been filled with lots of work. My mom and I have been working very hard on a present for her mom/my grandma. It is very time-consuming, but it will be worth it when the final project is completed.

Also, I have had a new helper come work for me, Stephanie Mortenson, and she is quite excellent, although she might be moving on to another job soon. I really like her, and I will be sad to see her leave, but I will find someone else, and I will have fun getting to know someone new.

I have been having not the best luck with my skin lately, and I know probably everyone on the Internet wants to know about these issues, so I'm going to continue. My heel on the left side was looking kind of grim, and we thought it was because of being pressed into the bed because I have to wear a leg strap when I'm in bed so I won't accidentally kick myself off the bed, so we have been putting a couple of pillows under my leg every night for the past few weeks. In that time, I have had another sore develop on my left side quite a bit higher up, and we didn't attribute it to the pillows until just yesterday. I have been trying to keep off of it as much as possible, and we're doing a strict regimen of remedies to combat the owie. I have confidence that with the combination of remedies plus the added power of my mind working together will solve the problem quickly.

Other diversions that I have been enjoying include new TV. I have been enjoying immensely The Vampire Diaries. If for some reason you are not watching this show, you need to definitely correct your behavior and start watching it! It's only on the second season right now, so it's totally catch-up-able. I can also provide you with the means to catch up quite quickly.

I'm also enjoying Hellcats, but I am not completely with that show yet. I have enjoyed the first three episodes, but I probably won't know if it's going to be one of my SHOWS until around episode seven or eight.

I am quite disappointed with Glee this season, especially with the most recent episode. It's like they are destroying the characters for the sake of the plot, which I, obviously, cannot get onboard with. I was really excited about Britney Spears episode, and was incredibly let down, ultimately. Glee is one of my SHOWS. I even attended the Glee concert when it came to town, and I even had to pay for parking, so you know I'm pretty serious about this show. I feel like the creators are treating it poorly, when it comes down to it. They are not respecting the characters they created, and as a result, the show is going downhill. I'm hoping they can redeem themselves, but at this point, I'm not holding my breath or anything. I'll watch, because I know that this show can be great, but my expectations are super low. It's also hard to keep liking this show when they continually portray "differently abled" characters so pathetically. That pushes my hate buttons a lot, and I'm not sure how much more I can take.

30 Rock is continuing to exceed my expectations. Such a lovely lovely show. I'm not caught up on everything I watch (The Office, Big Bang Theory, Chuck). I'm also not jumping on any shows that claim they are the new LOST. FYI: not something to brag about, people. That show, with all of its potential, ended up being the worst. The worst!

I haven't seen any new movies since I saw Scott Pilgrim a while ago. I liked that movie, but I did fall asleep for a good chunk of the middle, so I need to re-watch, obviously. I don't know what was up with me, but I was entertained, but I was also very relaxed, and also quite tired. So, that is what I have been up to, in a (rather large) nutshell.
